Who I Am: A Multi-Faceted Creative
Hello Beautiful, and welcome to Spaulding Lane! I’m Tia—a woman in the middle of redesigning her life, rediscovering her passions, and creating a space where other women can do the same.
If you’ve ever felt like it’s time for a reset—not just in one area, but across your whole life—honey you’re in the right place. Let me share a little bit about who I am and why I created this space.
A Little About Me
I am a woman who is over 45, an empty nester, and a creative at heart. As a wife and mother of three adult children, I’ve spent much of my life balancing my family and work. I honestly gave so much of myself to others that I often wondered what was left for me. Once my nest became empty and I faced a few other life changes, I started thinking what now?
I was at a crossroads and after some thought and reflection, I realized that my life needed a refresh. A re-brand. A redesign of sorts. Being a designer, it is only fitting that the term ‘design’ would be included in my life shake-up. My closet, my beauty routine, my home, how I showed up for myself—it all felt disconnected from the woman I was becoming. That realization sparked the journey of reinvention that I’m now sharing here with you.
(I remember the day this picture was taken. I was feeling so blah and uninspired. So I decided to shop my closet and fix myself up. It’s amazing what a little make-up, a cute dress, and a little leopard print can do to boost confidence.)
Why Spaulding Lane?
Spaulding Lane is more than a blog or a brand—it’s a reflection of a journey many of us are currently on.
Creating Spaulding Lane, I wanted a space where I could:
- Share what I’m learning about personal style, simplified beauty routines for aging skin, self-care, the art of creating a home, and more.
- Create content that inspires women to embrace their own rebirth and to celebrate even the smallest victories.
- Build a community of like-minded women who are seasoned but are still in the game baby! Women who are ready to age gracefully, live unapologetically and create a beautiful life—one joyful moment at a time.
Spaulding Lane isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress, creativity, and rediscovering what makes us feel alive and inspired.
(On this day I decided to treat myself to a mani, pedi, and lunch outdoors. I am learning to live and celebrate life every day and not just on special occasions)

- Favorite Color: My favorite color is black. I love black because it’s bold, sophisticated, and timeless. I currently wear a lot of black. Hey, “they” say it’s slimming. That said, I look forward to adding more color to my wardrobe.
- Favorite Design Style: A mix of contemporary, transitional, and timeless—clean lines with warm textures and personal touches.
- Hobbies I Love: I love dancing. If a beat drops, I am bopping to it. I also love to spend time with my family, cooking, shopping, and cozy nights watching lifetime movies.
- Mantra I Live By: “Every day you wake up is another day to get it right.”
- Favorite Article of Clothing: A comfortable pair of jeans. I live for a good pair of jeans.
- Superpowers: Authenticity, resilience, creativity, and individuality.
