My Favorite White Paint Colors

Hello Beautiful! Now listen, I know that some of us beauties are happy that we are moving past the white/beige interiors. As an interior designer and color expert, I’m ecstatic to see interiors being infused with color again. That said, there is still a place for white paint colors in our homes.

Now let me put a quick disclaimer here and say that if you still love a bright and airy space, there is nothing wrong with that. I am a firm believer in decorating your home for yourself and not based on trends, or what “they” say is in or out. No beautiful, you create a home that you love and one that represents who you are and how you live.

Now that we got that out of the way, let me share some of my favorite white paint colors from Sherwin Williams. In addition to sharing my favorites, I will share info about each color and some suggestions on where to use them.

This is a graphic that displays some of my favorite white Sherwin Williams paint colors.

City Loft leans more off-white and it has beige and red undertones. City Loft will appear lighter in rooms that get lots of natural light. It warms up in spaces that don’t get much natural light. I love city loft as a wall color but it also is a beautiful cabinet color. City Loft plays well with other neutrals and some greens and blues.

Pure White is one of those colors that can also appear off-white. It has slight yellow undertones that help to warm this color up some. Hear me out, this is still a bright white but since it leans on the warm side it’s not a stark white. I love Pure White on trim. It can perfectly contrast against a neutral or deeper color. If you are team I am still rocking with bright white spaces, this is a perfect color. I also love Pure White on kitchen cabinets because no matter what you’ve heard, white kitchen cabinets will always be a classic.

Do you prefer a creamy white? If so, Dover White is a beautiful creamy white. It’s soft and has gold and yellow undertones. This color will appear brighter in rooms that get a lot of natural light. You can use Dover White on walls but it’s a great creamy white cabinet color.

I would have to say that Shoji White may be one of my favorite versatile whites. This is a beautiful off-white that has beige and gray undertones. I love how fresh this color looks in spaces and it has just the right amount of warmth to it. Of course in south-facing rooms, you will see how this color warms up. In cooler lighting conditions, you will see more of the greige undertones. Shoji pairs well with greiges and bronze colors. This is another color that I love on both walls and cabinets.

Extra White is a cool white with blue and subtle gray undertones. This color is bright so I like it for ceilings and trim. You could use it as a wall color for a bright and airy feel but I would pair it with some wood tones to tone it down some. It is also a good bright white for cabinetry.

Greek Villa is another one of my favorite warm whites. It has a subtle yellow undertones. I love Greek Villa as a wall color but it would it is also a beautiful cabinet color.

Snowbound is a neutral white that has gray undertones. This color would be considered a soft white color. With an LRV (Light Reflective Value) of 83, I would consider this a bright white but not a stark white. This color is perfect for walls and trim, I would paint the walls and the trim both in Snowbound. The only difference is that I would paint the walls in a flat finish and the trim in a semi-gloss finish.

Eider White is a cool white with gray undertones. I love this color in rooms that get good natural light. Eider White can be used in any space and one tip for contrast would be to paint the trim a brighter white such as Extra White.

This is a beautiful white that has gray undertones. In some lighting, this color can appear to be a light gray. It’s a very calming and soothing color. Sherwin Williams notes on their website that this color is perfect for coastal homes because it has a slight green undertone. Don’t own a seaside retreat? Not a problem, this color will work in any home. The key with this color like many whites, is making sure the space has good lighting.

There you have it, my favorite white paint colors by Sherwin-Williams. Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more info on paint colors in the future.
